As always, we collected coins for cancer in September. This year, we decided to keep our coin collection local, with all of the money raised going toward the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre. In addition to our traditional nickel, dime, quarter, loonie and toonie collection, three female staff members agreed to lose their locks for cancer. On October 7th, at our morning assembly, Mrs. Rodaway, Ms. Hartman and Ms. Montgomery will be cutting their hair as a part of our fundraiser. Finally, another opportunity to show our support for someone in our lives that has been personally touched by cancer was through our ‘Tree of Hope’. Students were able to purchase twenty-five cent tickets to add a leaf to our tree in honour of someone they know who has been touched by cancer. Thus far, students have raised $715.89 to contribute to such an amazing organization. A fantastic effort for a fantastic cause!
